This is Yami:
She will be joining our home next week.
Cute baby Cow you have there.
oh…excuse me…I’ve been informed it is in fact a puppy.
Congratulations.
What happened to her poor little ear?
Both of the ears are taped to train them to stay up. It’s one of the idiosyncrasies of the breed. The process should be done by the time we pick her up.
Yami, you are adorable!
SnoCat!
Yami Jammies?
She is adorable!
I was thinking, “that dog sure looks like a cat!”
What type of cuteness is she? I know little about dogs, except for which are squee-worthy, and Yami is definitely a yes on that.
damn, that looks eerily similar to our Nick & Nora.
Ours are chonky, happy, cuddly housecats too. Nora usually is more patient, letting Nick badger me about meals and stuff. but when she’s really hungry she’ll step up. she just came in and made her usual adorable noises for attention, and i looked at the clock and sure enough – meal time. i said, “Nora Charles – you’re right! let’s have dinner. Is Mr. Charles interested?” and he sleepily got up from his bed by the radiator and agreed. so, beef dinner for cats, all around.
Yami is a hairless Chinese Crested.
Our previous dog, Lola, was also a hairless Chinese Crested. We wanted to get another crested, but didn’t want to get one that would remind us too much of Lola. My wife initially had her heart set on a blue-eyed one, which is a particularly rare mutation, but that was leading us to make too many compromises for us to be happy with our choices. Yami is different from Lola in several ways, including skin and coat color, amount of hair, and most notably personality. Lola was very much a velcro dog, but she was also very timid. Yami has so far been very attached to us, but also much more assertive. She has already learned the dog door, and also how to use the stairs that we have set up for the couches and beds. Unfortunately, her lack of timidness makes her a bit reckless, so she requires more supervision.
Here are a few shots from the formal photo shoot we had over the weekend. I’ll try to refrain from posting so many pictures for a little while, but I make no guaranatee.
Hex, the black one, is the trouble maker. If something is knocked down, it was Hex. But he’s also the more social and likely to jump into your lap. But more likely to tell you no. Sometimes my son puts on oven mits to pick him up. Alistair is a baby. He often sleeps with his head on my daughter’s pillow. He still drools and makes biscuits when he comes to bed in the morning.
Sibling cats are the way to go.
isn’t that the truth! Nick & Nora are siblings, as well. Nick, the black one, is also the troublemaker and the more social and expressive of the two. Nora is far more cautious, but when she’s comfortable she’s a love, too.
Sibling pairs are so sweet, as long as they are sweet. About 10 minutes after this was taken, Ernie decided it was time to bite Bert’s ear, and have the spot to himself.
Also, thanks for the info @LockeCJ, and I would never object to an abundance of Yami photos. She’s darling.
