Never seen bark that white (top pic).
Here’s English Sycamore leaf.
Think it’s similar.
And It turns out you have some in San Fran.
Here is a squished dog.

The two kittens have pushed Bitey Cat over the edge. She’s a sensitive, high-strung beastie under normal circumstances, and adding the new kittens has upset her normal massively. Now that they are more small cat than kittens, they are driving her nuts, especially Joey, the boy with some likely Bengal in him. To say he’s high energy is an understatement.
Bitey Cat started peeing in places around the house, just once or twice at first, then today she hit 3 spots in a matter of minutes: under my chair at the dining table, my placemat on the table (ewwww), and the cardboard box all 4 have been playing in, with, and around for a couple weeks. The calming pheromone diffusers are on order, vet appointment to check for UTI and hopefully an Rx for kitty calm-it-all to settle things down enough for us to figure out a long-term plan to fix this.
Aarrggh!
That sounds awful for you and bitey cat must be miserable as well
We’ve been fortunate that both our oranges have settled in with Nimbus. He will snuggle most with Princess Ravus, as she will give him baths. But the best wrestling partner is probably Ryuuko, he is more patient and a bit of a push over.
I took this picture and marveled again at Ravus’s size. Nimbus is 10 pounds now and still looks little. I wonder if Joey will end up as big as Ravus (17 pounds)
We are considering some cat shelves or something to make really high places for Nimbus. He likes to lord it over everyone and then give a cute little musical trill when he wants your attention
My weird cat… we picked up a toy for her during the halloween season, a fake knife branded with Chucky, that included a string with a chucky head and a red fluffy thing… earlier today, she was laying on it, her paws wrapped around the chucky head… and she was licking it…
Nah, THIS is a sycamore leaf!
(Clearly they’re the same family, but silver peeling bark which reveals the white underneath and HUGE leaves are the two main hallmarks of what we have here.)
Jeez, that is a big leaf.
sorry that Bitey is having difficulties accepting the kittehs. it does sound familiar, as follows:
i have been trying to slowly introduce BuddyCat to the interior of the house. he is a perfect gentleman when indoors and is a big marshmallow that never displays any aggression. so it is not he that is the problem. no, it is the old lady, ChiliDog, who is starting the guff.
i have started to give Budster his breakfast and dinner just inside the back door and he is eager to come in. well, that’s when Chili gets all pissy and she will stalk him everywhere he goes. she will ignore her own food bowl to get her face in his bowl, while BudBud nonchalantly meanders over to her untouched food and proceed to enjoy.
tonight, Chili had had enough and lashed out at poor Budmeister - who is twice her size! - and he was cowed! -gasp-
Buddy is currently lounging on his foot rest of my recliner, the place he wants to be:
It probably has silvervine in it. My cats will lick the toys with silvervine or silvervine and 'nip
Mine love the ones from MadCat
Ugh, territory marking. Our buns would do that all the time when their bond broke; then they were peeing all over the house until we separated and re-bonded them. I would up having to buy a wet vac to clean up after them on carpet.
It’s also why we’re not getting another bun after the doe died. We just don’t know how the buck will take it, and a breeder told me Netherland Dwarves are a more solitary breed.
Bonded bunnies:
Election panic setting in. Need something to calm me down…
(Happens to me every election. Bunny cuddles are a recent antidote…)
He was a good boy, and provided comfort and bunny cuddles last night. He also stood guard by the bedroom all night. Very good bunny!
Update:
Was greeted with this scene this morning (blurred b/c litter box photo)
This is what normal looks like. Actually, a little more than normal. I think he cleared whatever blockage he had and is doing better. Still going to watch him like a….like someone who is a concerned companion human.
At least I had that good news this morning.
Just wanted to add there is a plastic grate that goes on top the litter box that he stands on. He never touches the litter, which would be bad for him. It’s also the cheap, unscented bulk litter from Petco. It isn’t dust free, but since he doesn’t stand on the litter that isn’t a problem.
General Melchett: [Melchett seems satisfied by this, and eats a bit of Plum Duff. He is repulsed by its taste and spits it out] Ah, Jumping Jerries! Are you sure these are real raisins in this Plum Duff?
Capt. Kevin Darling: Oh, yes, I’m sure they are, sir. Everything will be all right once the cream custard arrives.
