Is the red cat in the real World or in the holographic universe?
Not pets as such, but Iāve got to put this somewhere:
Water-hose tool use and showering behavior by Asian elephants

ā¢ Elephants show elegant and elaborate water-hose tool use
ā¢ Elephants can use hoses in different ways depending on purpose
ā¢ Elephants show marked individual differences in showering behaviors
ā¢ Elephant Anchali disrupted water flow to showering elephant Mary by hose clamping
With video abstract!
Did anyone else think that āhoseā was referring to the elephantās trunk?
I think we should anthropomorphize more to better understand the beasts with whom we share this planet. They are individuals with their own personalities, preferences, thoughts, and emotions.
Our vanity and conceit lead us to believe that we are somehow separate, or removed, from nature. But they and us are products of the same world and are not so different.
Reject that 19th century patriarchal BS. Itās been perpetuated to justify treating other living creatures in unbelievably cruel and exploitiveq ways.
Animals feel emotions: joy, anger, sorrow, fear, jealousyā¦ we are not unique in that respect. We just lack the ability to communicate with them to understand how they are feeling their emotions, and why.
Mary the elephant looks happy because she is happy.
The good news: Sugarplum is back in the house after a week or so of āferalā time. Bad news: She has sinus congestion and her right eye is injured and swollen, not bleeding though. I brought her in the house yesterday and she didnāt struggle as she had when I tried to get her in before.
Those appear to be her only health issues. Iāve listened to her chest, andāve not heard any indications of congestion in her lungs. Heart rate is fine. She has no trouble moving and can use the litter box. LOL, yesterday, I was fussing over her too much and she made it clear she did not want by peeing in my empty laundry basket. I told her Iād rather her bite me, itās less to clean up. Sheās been sleeping a lot, and not coughing as much as she was yesterday. Iāve been trying to keep her eye cleaned, but Iām sure it hurts so I just do the best I can.
I will keep you posted.
I regret that I have but one like to give!
I love how she giggles while singing affectionate phrases to the sheep.
Looks nominal.
Thatās my favorite part!
One should never anthropomorphise animals.
They hate it.
So a follow up on this post for anyone interested. I moved this over to this thread because, wellā¦ Sheās now a member of the family.
Weāve cracked the code about getting her to eat and drink. Sort of a real life Helen Keller moment. I set her down on the floor, and she accidentally walked into the water bowl. When she realized what happened, she just started drinking. Same success with the kitten formula, but it is still a struggle to get her to eat canned food. Itās almost like sheās never been weaned.
Her energy level is much higher and though the sinus infection persists. and we still donāt know what is happening with her eyes, sheās doing much much better.
She sees her new vet on Thursday.
