Caracara plancus, aka Caracará, aka crested caracara, aka Mexican eagle.

This bird is young. He or she was being harassed by the Kiskadees on another rooftop, then she/he tried to catch a pigeon. A couple of hawks kicked him off the roof, as tey were feasting on the doves.

You have all the best birds. We have mostly pigeons and sparrows.

What is the out of focus bird on the right? Some kind of wader with butterfly wings?

That’s the common Catinoinformibus satelliticus. They’re most often seen perching on roofs.

It’s only been a few years since I started paying more attention to the animals around me. I used to live in a more remote area of the city and there are a lot of animals there. Now that I live in the concrete jungle, I’m amazed to see so many birds too.

Caramba.

I thought you were asking about the other bird in the canary picture. This building over there has a real orchard of TV antennas. Birds really like Yagi antennas.

Sorry for my flippancy, I did not mean to mislead, they are impressive photos, and birds, please share more.

The most exotic I see are feral parakeets, which, though pretty, are noisy and negatively impacting native birds (except for some native birds of prey).

Oh no. It is alright, tudo bem. I just wake up and I didn´t have my cup of coffee. My bad. I saw that you had replied to one of my posts, but I didn’t see which one.

There are a lot of exotic birds here too. Usually birds that were pets and managed to run away. Now they are part of the city life.

We do get migratory birds in spring and fall, so there’s more variety then.

Such a lovely little bird with a gorgeous, intricate song! I’d fancy a nap afterwards, too!

Same! I was not knocking your great images of your wondrous winged neighbors, nor your feathery neighbors!

Very chill cat. I found that terrifying. They have not forgotten their dinosaur roots.
