train wreck.

Is that even true?

Dark matter particles are attracted to gravity wells

∴ dark matter particles accelerate toward gravity wells

∴ dark matter particles are traveling at their maximum velocity in the middle of gravity wells

∴ dark matter particles spend less time in the middle of gravity wells than in other places

… maybe

I suppose it would depend on how “dark” the dark matter is.

If it doesn’t interact at all with other particles, aside from gravity, then, sure, the gravitational potential energy would convert to an exactly equivalent amount of kinetic energy, and then back to exactly the same amount of gravitational energy as when it started.

If there’s any entropy in the process at all, though, it would eventually end up in a stable orbit around (or within) a gravitational body.

No. Please. No.

It’s just not the same without MC Hammer…

Who knew there was a Garfunkel and Oates TV show? Highly recommended, it’s like The Flight of the Conchords if the lead duo could act.

It made me fondly remember that train wreck.

I only saw the first of those Addams films. I thought it at least had some good casting in some of the roles, Wednesday, Morticia, even though Raul Julia was no John Astin he had his merits. Never liked disembodied Thing, I always thought there should have been some extra-dimensional being attached to that hand.

You chose wisely.

A thousand times yes!

Thing is a thing of mystery. It should never be shown to us outside of its box!

I think there’s also something about how our universe is three dimensional. The acceleration spreads particles out that were formerly close together, but the three-dimensional contraction of all the particles toward the low point pulls them together at the same time

Watched the Favourite last night… Olivia Colman totally deserved that Oscar…

Comet’s got a From Dusk Till Dawn marathon on tonight. Yeah, they’re kind of cheesy, but I still enjoy the first (when they hit the vampire bar) and the third. (I never could get into the second one.)

I never knew there was more than one.

Yup. The second movie is a sequel, with no characters crossing over from the first one, and a more serious tone. (Which is probably why I’ve never gotten into it. I lost interest in it tonight, too. Maybe someday I’ll watch the whole thing.) The third is a prequel, set in the days of the Old West, and it winds up being an origin story for one of the first movie’s more distinctive characters (even though she isn’t played by the same actress.)

There is a whole series but it is really bad :-1:

Hey, now; that’s enough of that heresy.

Addams Family Values is quotable as fuck, and Wednesday taking down that White fascist summer camp was EVERYTHING.

Oh also I came here to share I started watching the Boys after I finished Jett.

So far, it’s really good. And I just now noticed that Kripke is the creator, so no wonder that I dig it.

It had some potential at first, but it quickly went off the rails after the first season.

Oh I watched several episodes. It looks cool. You keep wishing it would get better.

At some point you realize there’s maybe one character in the whole show you care about, and all you want is she should go home and never see any of these other people again, and that’s not really a good reason to keep watching.

I really did, though!

I finally just gave up, after they brought in Demi Lovato as a guest star; that was my ‘okay’ point.

It had gotten too stupid to salvage, and I had to accept it.
