Whatcha Watchin'?

Not at all, because I’ve never watched Mad Men; I only know the gifs with the redhead…

There are riches beyond counting out there.

I bet.

I used SPN gifs for years before ever watching even a single ep of that series.

In other watching news:

Better Call Saul is back and I started Sharp Objects.

Parts of Mad Men were soooo good.

Parts.

Meta-drinking game…

Take a drink whenever anyone on the show takes a drink, or whenever Patricia Clarkson does, for that matter. Or when she makes any remark about preserving the integrity of her house. Aw, hell. Just drink, dammit!

Egads man, I don’t want alcohol poisoning!

But I will try it with smoking a bowl; I need to rewatch an ep or two, anyway.

:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

As to the ‘suspects’, even though the source material isn’t a whodunit:

*It’s totally a woman, someone who knew both girls well.
*I think Amma and her friends know something about the murders.
*The woman in white is real, though probably not the killer.

I don’t think I’ve even gotten through the first season of Mad Men. I’m not sure why. I didn’t dislike the show, and I actually heard it was supposed to be good. I guess it just didn’t grab me.

I have a friend who grew up during that time, and she could not watch the show. It was just too real for her.

Two of my aunts told me that they couldn’t watch the show because Don Draper was too close to the way their father was in the time period. I only ever knew him as a kindly old man, but apparently, that was just old age taking some kind of wind out of some kind of sails, that I don’t want to think about all that much.

That’s why I have never watched the show. I think of him as he was when I knew him, even though I know the stories, I don’t really want to go there. In fact, both of those aunts cautioned me that I might want to give this one a miss, for that reason.

I’ll just stick with the GIFs, because they stike just the right note sometimes.

I have to confess that the premise never even sounded appealing to me, despite all the rave reviews; a world dominated by bigoted, sexist, rich White men who are unchecked by even the illusion of civil rights isn’t any kind of ‘entertainment’ in my book.

still haven’t gotten around to seeing the last half season of the show.

currently watching perfume: the story of a murderer. its cinematography is luscious.

Ooh, that’s a good one.

Maybe it’s appreciating how far we’ve come.

Or realizing that we haven’t really moved on from that time at all.

Either way, it isn’t compelling.

It’s the Caped Madman! er, I mean Sh-Boom!

If DC’s new film doesn’t feature our hero machine gunning retreating bad guys, I shall be sorely disappointed.

Been rewatching all of the Mad Max movies the past couple of weeks… last night was Beyond Thunderdome. I forgot how great Tina Turner is in that one and it’s Gibson’s best performance in the series too.

Given how much of a shithead that Gibson has turned out to be, looking forward to seeing Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Max again…

Also, I like how you never have a sense of how much time has passed between films. There are just new circumstances the Max has to adapt to out in the wastelands.

I joke a lot about drinking, due to the original Lounge @ TOP… but cannabis is my preferred inebriant.

Oh, Aunty Entity was everything in Thunderdome.

Watch me as I fall on these bad guys.

Same here. I’m not much of a drinker. Alcohol makes me feel like wet dog farts, especially if I have too much of it. Cannabis relaxes me, and actually helps with my depression.
