That would be fun, but absolutely not her style. $30?!? Holy shit, it must be made of cardboard and sawdust!
Seriously, the hardware on the drawers should be more than that! I cannot imagine what crap construction that is.

That’s e-bay, not Etsy. Probably something picked up at a garage sale.
Mom bought us each something similar, but both are solid wood, and they look & feel like oak. They’re velvet-lined in places, too. I didn’t ask what they cost, but she was a major bargain hunter.
Final finish on the bedstand table:
Still not 100% happy with the consistency of the surface sheen but the ceramic coating really makes the chatoyancy pop, so it was worth it.
I also noticed that from 30-is feet away, it looks like a Space Invader:
It looks terrific, Duke!
Ate the stretchers brass? That’s a really nice piece!
The stretchers are poplar dowel. I found some quite dark poplar that turned out close to walnut in color and grain.
Thank you! & @MerelyGifted !
The right half reminds me of Jupiter’s bands. Really pretty table!
I picked the wood out before I even decided what to build from them. It was just incredibly and beautifully figured walnut, much of which looks more like tigereye gemstone than wood.
Just like with mead making, my process is to start with good ingredients and do my best to stay out of nature’s way.
Herself working the plate compactor. I’m content to lean on my shovel and watch her go by . We may get it mostly finished this weekend!
And with ear protection to boot!
Can’t wait to see pictures of the end result.
the table at one of our client’s church got fell on by a guy changing a lightbulb. he was going to hire us to make new legs but all the pieces fit back together well, so gluing and screwing it back together was the move. it only took an hour and a half and we just donated our time since it was a church (although we’re both atheists, but it’s still a community nonprofit.)
Nice work!
Finished laying the pavers today. All the PPE required for cutting concrete. Gloves and sunhat not shown.
Pavers just before adding the polymeric (elastomeric?) brick-locker. Just need to tidy up the walls, add lights, then this is done.
Great work! Looking forward to seeing how it turns out once it’s all done…
he’s a silly boy!
he joined us for breakfast by the pool at the place we were staying in Key West.
(that’s not a spoiler for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.)
I wondered how you got him to pose! Food solves all.
Me, too! Thanks @KeybillyJefe. You’re an artist and an amazing person!
I remember his ancestors back in '97 or '98 when we stayed across the street from the lighthouse. That area of KW had the loudest roosters!
