Feliz Natal
This movie gets a lot of undeserved hate.
Christmas crackers were invented by an English confectioner, Tom Smith, in 1847. He had been to the French Exhibition in Paris in 1840 and since then had been selling his own sweets in the style of French bon-bons, wrapped with a paper twisted at each end. He originally put in love notes to make the sweet eater feel happy. He then changed this to riddles and jokes printed on paper inside with the sweet, and sold them as Christmas novelties. In 1860 he made an arrangement with Brock’s Fireworks to include an explosive device inside, and the traditional cracker was born. They were called Cosaques, the French name for fearsome Russian Cossack soldiers who were renowned for shooting their rifles loudly in the air.

ETA: Ack. Clicked the wrong reply, this should’ve been to Happy Holidays! - #297 by MerelyGifted
Apparently this exists.
Edited to add — To illustrate my comment above, I would much rather watch Santa Claus Conquers the Martians than this.
Observation as I checkout for Xmas Eve Day: Poor dude at “organ” has no organ pedals, but his ‘muscle memory’ has his feet reaching out for them!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYONE! AND STAY SAFE!
Surprise Cossack sounds a bit like pogrom in the shtetl.
Eeesh! Thank God it’s not!
My all time most favoritest tradition from way back in the 80s.
It’s not Christmas until Darlene Love and Paul Shaffer say it is.
And oh my gosh, I should look as good at 83 as Mrs. Love.
Cheers, everyone!
Cat and Girl on Christmas and nostalgia…
And not one, but two Donation Derby’s are Christmas themed…
Hygge, y’all.
