The Arrivals Lounge

Sounds like a nice idea.

There are only a handful here, though. 90% are in the old Lounge threads, which I don’t have access to any more.

Welcome, all! It’s only 8:30am here but I’m pretty sure it’s 5:30pm somewhere…

Unsurprisingly, there’s a website for that:

Of course, if you put your mind to it, every hour is happy hour.

What? Did you think I was going to resist that sort of opportunity?

Mostly unfounded fears. We’re at 319MiB, with 15GiB free.

Let me know if you want me to move any posts.

As the Today’s View thread has yet to be started, I’m going to post this here:

Spent the day with a client today and this is their view. I’m slightly jealous.

Does anyone have the ability to extract my old “office” posts from the ghost of the Lounge?

Wow, where is that? And why are those three buildings holding up a giant submarine??

Is that what it is? I thought it was a cruise ship stranded high and dry… :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a backup of the final 1500 lounge posts on am encrypted device. I can drag it out this evening and see what I can find.

I can’t see a problem here.

It’s the harbour in Singapore’s Central Business District. The building with the boat on the top is Marina Bay Sands, a giant hotel and casino complex. The boat is there because the architect thought “fuck it, this needs a boat!” I can find no justification for it online, so I assume that’s the case, anyway.

I took this a couple of years ago but the view from the observation deck at the end of the boat bit is rather nice, too:

There’s “Download All” on your profile page. I don’t know if those would be included. Or if they would include pictures.

I’m pretty sure comments from the old regulars areas won’t be in the download.

Dayum.

I used to work part time at a yacht club at a private island. My view from my desk was the back side of this house.

Yes, the guest portion of this beach house was bigger than my actual home.

The nicest view I’ve ever had out a work window was of a parking lot.

Ah well, at least I had a window.
